Turmeric is a commonly used spice, but you probably forget that it’s much more than a spice. It’s a common ingredient in Asian dishes, and one of the greatest remedies for different health issues.

Turmeric and Liver Health and Cancer Prevention
Turmeric has always been used in the treatment of liver issues. However, science first confirmed his liver-boosting effect twenty years ago.
According to experts, your liver benefits from the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect of turmeric. It reduces liver damage caused by cirrhosis, iron overdose, ethanol, toxicity, and liver disease such as cholestatis.
Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, reduces the risk of liver cancer, thanks to its ability to reduce the effect of carcinogens (thioacetamide).
Turmeric and brain health
Scientists have confirmed that turmeric boosts the function of your brain. Curcumin blocks the buildup of beta-amyloid plaques by 40%. Beta-amyloid plaques are a primary cause of Alzheimer’s disease.
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory effect, which is of great help in the treatment of Alzheimer’s. The spice reduces the damage caused by inflammation and oxidizing agents. Studies have also confirmed its power in the treatment of depression.
Turmeric and oil/fat
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 cups coconut milk
- A pinch of black pepper
Heat up the ingredients into a saucepan, and bring the mixture to a boiling point. Turn the heat off, and sip your warm drink. You can also add this to your soups, curries and other dishes.
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- 1-2 cups water
Bring the water to a boil, and stir in your turmeric. Simmer for 10 minutes, then let it cool for a few minutes. Enjoy your warm turmeric water.
