Avocados can turn bad within a minute, and nobody likes brown avocados. Polyphenol oxidase is an enzyme in avocados, and it reacts with oxygen. That’s how avocados turn brown.
How to preserve your avocados?
Some people like to spray lime/lemon juice on their avocado halves, while others keep them in the fridge. But, you can actually freeze your avocados.
Here’s how to do it
For this trick you will need a sharp kitchen knife, a straw and a Ziplock bag.
Cut the avocado in half, and go around the pit. Make sure you do not cut into it. Take the pit out, and put each half in a Ziplock bag. Leave just a tiny hole to slip in a straw.
Suck out the air, and take the straw carefully. Place the bags in your freezer.
That’s it! This life hack will keep your avocados good for a long time.
